Burnt Orange is a boutique café & retail operation located in Mosman, Sydney. This exciting business is located in the old golf club house from the 1930's at George's Head. The building has undergone a stunning renovation by Sydney Harbour Federation Trust, as part of the ongoing development of the entire Headland Park area.
The Burnt Orange concept emanates from an Irish company called Avoca who are widely recognised as one of Europe's most stylish retailers, as well as purveyors of fine foods through their award-winning cafés and restaurants. The success of Avoca is based on their belief that the store becomes an extension of ones own home, lending itself to casual browsing through various rooms of the house before a relaxing breakfast, lunch or afternoon tea in the café.
The Club House building is a Federation-style mansion on 2 levels. The upstairs Retail rooms contain original timber flooring throughout and are filled with womenswear & jewellery, children's clothing and gifts and a food hall.
The café is located on the wrap around verandah with stunning views of Sydney Harbour round to The Heads and Manly. Breakfast is served from 8.30am and features a wide variety of breakfast favorites. Our homemade Irish scones & jams and Single Origin coffee are worth a special mention. A highlight of the lunch menu is the Burnt Orange fish pie and the afternoon menu caters for those in search of a cup of tea with a slice of cake or a glass of wine matched with a selection of Australian meats and cheeses.
The downstairs level of the building is dedicated to homewares & gifts and carries a diverse range of glassware, crockery, ceramics, garden and outdoor products. Next door is the Picnic Kiosk where takeaway salads and sandwiches are available, as well as picnic baskets prepared for those who wish to lunch on the lawns in front of the building.
